Samsung is the most common brand through our door, especially the Galaxy A series. Current models like the A17, A26 and A54 are daily routine, and plenty of five year old A50s still come in because these phones simply refuse to die. For the S series we keep parts channels open from the S21 up to the S25 Ultra.

The AMOLED quirk

Samsung uses AMOLED panels, and AMOLED takes drops personally. The glass can survive a fall while the panel dies inside: a purple blotch appears, then grows, then a green line joins it. That is internal damage and it only spreads, so do not wait it out. We fit original service pack panels that come with the frame, because copy AMOLEDs have washed out colours, short lives and fingerprint sensor problems. After the swap you re-register your fingerprints, two minutes, tested together before you leave.

Beyond screens

Batteries that no longer last the day are an easy one hour fix, details on the battery page. Charging ports that only work when the cable sits at an angle are covered on the port page. Phones stuck on the logo or refusing to switch on get free diagnosis, and if the fault is on the board our board repair bench takes over. On the A series the fast movers are the A16, A17, A26, A54 and A55, and we still see enough A12s and A50s to keep those coming in too. S series parts run from the S21 to the S25 Ultra, including the Ultra panels with the curved edge, which are the fiddliest screens we fit. Note and Z Fold repairs we take case by case; folding displays are a specialist part and the price reflects that. Other Android brands are ordered per job and typically arrive within two days.

The software side of a dead Galaxy

Not every Samsung that will not start has a hardware fault. Phones stuck on the logo after an update, or looping through the boot animation, are often a software problem and that is a much cheaper afternoon for you. We check that first, before opening anything. Where a factory reset is the only route we tell you plainly that your data goes with it, and we attempt a backup before we do anything irreversible.

Water and the Galaxy

Recent Galaxy models carry an IP rating and people trust it more than they should. That rating is tested with clean water in a lab on a new phone, not with sea water on a three year old handset whose seals have aged. Every screen or battery job on a sealed model gets new gaskets from us, but nobody restores factory sealing. If your Galaxy has been in the sea, the water damage page applies to it just as much as to any other phone.
