Charging Port Repair in Fethiye

The charging port takes more abuse than any other part: plugged and unplugged several times a day, fed pocket lint and beach sand, exposed to humid sea air. The symptoms are familiar. The cable must sit at an exact angle, the phone charges slowly, the computer no longer sees it, or it was on charge all night and gained nothing.

Good news first: sometimes it is only dirt

A surprising share of charging complaints end with a professional port clean, no parts needed. Lint packs into the bottom of the port until the cable cannot seat fully. Do not dig at it with a needle at home, the pins bend easily and a bent pin turns a cheap fix into a replacement. Beach sand is even harsher, it scratches the contacts. In summer we could fill a jar with the sand we pull out of ports from Çalış and Ölüdeniz.

If replacement is needed

Two scenarios, depending on your model. On many phones the port sits on a small sub-board: quick swap, usually within the hour. On others the port is soldered directly to the motherboard, which means micro soldering work, a few hours, still normally same day. We use ports with proper pin quality, because cheap ones bring the same complaint back in three months, and the work carries our warranty.

Before you come, try this

Two minutes at home can save you a trip. Try a different cable, ideally one you know works, and a different plug. Then try a different wall socket. If the phone charges from a power bank but not from the wall, the phone is fine and your charger is not. If wireless charging works but the cable does not, that points straight at the port. And look inside the port with a torch: if you see a grey felt like plug at the bottom, that is compacted lint, not a fault.

Cables and chargers do wear out

A cable that only charges at a certain angle is often the cable, not the phone. The wires inside break near the connector where the bending happens, usually at the end you tug on. Very cheap chargers are the other regular culprit: they deliver unstable voltage, charge slowly and put stress on the charging circuit. If yours has been getting warm or making a faint whine, replace it regardless of what the phone does.

How we test after the repair

A port is not signed off just because the phone charges. We check the charging speed against what the model should draw, test data transfer over a computer, and check the microphone at the bottom of the phone, which on many models sits on the same small board as the port.
